LAHORE: Mohammad Haris’ brilliant innings of 85 runs helped Peshawar Zalmi reach 171/5 against Lahore Qalandars in the second eliminator of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 8.
Electing to bat first, Zalmi managed to put a respectable score on the board thanks to a brilliant innings from his wicketkeeper-batsman Haris.
Earlier, the visitors got off to an inauspicious start as Zalmi lost their young batsman Saeem Ayub (9) in the second over for a total of just 15.
After an early setback, Zalmi skipper Babar Azam and Haris settled matters for their side as the pair added 89 runs for the second wicket partnership.
The pair took Zalmi to 102/1 in 11 overs before Rashid Khan gave the Qalandars a much-needed breakthrough when he trapped Babar at leg-side.

Zalmi then dealt another blow to the same bowler when Rashid Khan dismissed Tom Koehler-Cadmore for a wicket.
However, Haris held his ground firm and forged a crucial 49-run partnership with Bhanuka Rajapakse before Shaheen Shah Afridi was dismissed on the last ball of his spell. He scored 85 off 54 balls for Zalmi, hitting 11 fours and two sixes.
