Prime Minister and Emir of Qatar meet, discuss issues of mutual interest

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have discussed wider issues of mutual interest and ways to further enhance the excellent cooperation between the two countries in other fields including economic and investment.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has reiterated his firm commitment that he will continue to support the Government of Pakistan in its agenda to develop Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Qatar to participate in the fifth session of the Conference of Least Developed Countries under the auspices of the United Nations. The Prime Minister is participating in this conference at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar.

During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening bilateral cooperation with Qatar and increasing the ways and means of bilateral investment, trade and export of skilled people from Pakistan to Qatar.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed wider issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to further enhance the excellent cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar in other fields including economic and investment. The Emir of Qatar appreciated the efforts of Pakistani workers in the development of Qatar and especially appreciated the excellent performance of Pakistani security authorities on the occasion of the successful holding of FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Qatar’s continuous support in Pakistan’s development projects and highlighted the vast opportunities for increasing cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening bilateral cooperation with Qatar and increasing the ways and means of bilateral investment, trade and export of skilled people from Pakistan to Qatar.

Emir of Qatar welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his arrival in Qatar. He expressed keen interest in increasing economic cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar. He reiterated Qatar’s firm commitment and continued support for Pakistan’s development agenda. The Prime Minister invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Pakistan, which he accepted.
