It should be noted that earlier on February 23, a lawyer from Lahore filed a reference against Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi in the Supreme Judicial Council and demanded an investigation into his assets.

The complainant, Mian Dawood, had requested the Supreme Judicial Council to initiate proceedings against the Supreme Court judge under Article 209 of the Constitution.

The reference alleged that the judge used his influence to get his sons and daughter’s education abroad and to obtain ‘financial benefits’ from a businessman, Zahid Rafiq.

Petitioner Mian Dawood added that ‘the judge openly reveals his relationship with PTI and its leader Imran Khan’.

Mian Dawood said that they also claim to be dangerous against other political parties because of their personal grudges.
