Chief Election Commissioner defamation case; Arrest warrant issued for Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry

The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry.

The Election Commission has issued an arrest warrant in the contempt case against the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner.

A 4-member bench comprising Election Commission members Nisar Durani, Shah Muhammad Jatoi, Babar Hassan Bharwana and Justice (R) Ikramullah issued the order.

The Election Commission has ordered that the IG Police should produce Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry on March 14.

According to the text of the order, Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry deliberately ask for adjournment, it is tantamount to mockery of the commission, their behavior is not acceptable, their absence before the commission is deliberate.
