Rawalpindi: Faheem Ashraf’s brilliant six off Mohammad Ilyas in the last over of the thrilling match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans stunned commentator Simon Dole.
In a tense final over with United needing 18 runs, Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan handed the ball to right-arm pacer Ilyas.
Despite Sultans being favorites to win the crucial match, there was a nervous display from the bowler as he bowled a wide first-up ball to open.
Elias then fired in another wide yorker which Faheem tried to leg-side but an under-edge luckily flicked the ball past the keeper to fine leg for a boundary.
After conceding a boundary, skipper Rizwan tried to comfort his bowler, who then looked to go for another wide yorker but was a bit too fuller for Faheem and wide for a stunning six over third man. Used full toss.

After a wide and two back-to-back boundaries, United then needed seven fours with Fahim. The all-rounder took a couple before smashing consecutive boundaries to chase down the second-highest runs with one ball in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history.
Moreover, before Faheem’s heroics, no team in the history of the league had chased down 18 runs in the last over.
