PEMRA has banned broadcasting of Imran Khan’s statements and speeches

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the speeches, statements, broadcasts and telecasts of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. PEMRA issued orders to the satellite channels regarding the ban on Imran Khan’s speeches and statements.

According to PEMRA’s orders, TV channels cannot broadcast live, recorded statements and speeches of Imran Khan.

The notification states that Imran Khan is constantly making baseless allegations against state institutions, his speeches will not be broadcast live or recorded.

According to the PEMRA notification, Imran Khan is spreading hatred against the state institutions and officers through inflammatory statements, he is making baseless accusations and hateful speech against the institutions, his speech may worsen the law and order situation.

Pemra says that TV channels cannot broadcast Imran Khan’s statement, conversation or address whether live or recorded and the ban on his speeches and statements will be applied immediately.
