The Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, announced that users who used less than 300 units of fuel that was charged against the account for August are eligible for an exemption from fuel adjustment charges.
However, in accordance with a prior announcement, the government offered assistance to consumers who used less than 200 units of electricity. The PM has since increased the relief by 100 more units, claiming that in these inflationary times, just 100 more units would make a difference.
According to the PM, this exemption would apply to 75% of all Pakistani electricity consumers when he spoke at a seminar in Islamabad. further asked the finance minister to exclude flood victims’ electrical expenses.
