Due to the General Sales Tax (GST) and Federal Excise Duty (FED) increases on imported vehicles, also known as Completely Built Units (CBUs), the price of the Prado Toyota in Pakistan has increased by an absurd amount (CBUs).

General Sales Tax (GST) has been hiked in Pakistan from 17% to 18% on all goods, with luxury goods being subject to a 25% GST rate. Also, the Federal Excise Charge (FED) on imported automobiles has been raised by the government.

It is pertinent to mention that Toyota Prado is not the only CBU that has seen a price hike in Pakistan, but Indus Motor Company (IMC) has also raised the price of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 ZX, another offering by the company in the SUV segment.
Indus Motor Company (IMC) offers a variety of imported vehicles, however due to an increase in the general sales tax, the company has also increased the cost of locally manufactured or completely knocked down (CKD) vehicles (GST).
