Federal Education Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that the federal government has made a number of steps to help pupils from the areas of the nation that have experienced flooding.
In a recent meeting with Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Education Minister gave the order to postpone for flood-affected students the payment of both their current and past-due university fees.

The Education Minister further directed the Chairman HEC to formulate a mechanism for waiving off both current and due university fee payments for students hailing from flood-hit areas.
Additionally, the Chairman of HEC was requested by the Minister of Education to establish scholarship programmes for undergraduate and graduate students who were impacted by the greatest floods in Pakistani history.
Rana Tanveer said the current federal administration is totally dedicated to offering the greatest amount of support to the people affected by the floods.
In these urgent times, he continued, the federal government is standing by the people and would stop at nothing to assist in the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
